How To Use

Although plastic storage carts are mainly useful for storing items in your house, learn about these tips and guides on how to utilize them better.

Extra sturdiness

You can move the storage cart around your house with the wheels on. But if you want extra sturdiness and less shakiness. you should remove the wheels and let the flat platform rest on the floor. This way, you can store heavier and more items.

Identify drawer contents

You should label the drawers near the handle. This is great for organising your items. Just use standard stickers and write useful descriptions that mention the types of items. Plastic storage carts are great for people who always forget about their items whereabouts.

Replace your kitchen cabinet

Somehow, if you need a temporary fix, you can use the plastic storage cart at your kitchen. But don't load it with too many heavy items.

Mobility

Besides attaching the wheels and moving the cart around, you can also detach an individual drawer and cover it with its lid. You now have a big storage box that you can carry from one place to another.

Store it in your wall closet

This is a popular place to store your cart. Simply roll it out when you need to use it. This way, you also don't clutter your house. It is safely kept in your closet. This is a more tidy option.

Don't put anything heavy on the top

Instead, store your heavier items in the bottom drawer for best stability and lower center of gravity. If you store heavy things on top, your plastic storage cart's frame structure might warp. When this happens, it can be harder to open the drawers.

Cleaning underneath

This is an easy job if you have installed the wheels (casters) underneath. Simply move it away temporarily to clean the underneath.

Putting it in your car

This is possible if they are small enough (3 to 5 drawers size). For most family cars, you can fit it in the back seat. But for bigger plastic storage carts, you would have to put it at the trunk of an SUV or four-wheel drive. When doing this, always make sure you secure the drawers from opening by using Velcro straps or tying a rope around them. It also helps to remove the wheels while you store it in your car.
