Plastic Storage Crates
What is a Crate?
A crate is best described to you as a box. But this box is designed in such a way that it is made of
only structures. Think of them as skeleton boxes, where individual straight components are attached to one another,
forming a box. They can be found in supermarkets, when you bring your grocery shopping crate. That is the one we
are dealing with here.
Features of a Plastic Storage Crate
These boxes are manufactured with handles on them. You want to carry something light, don't you? Their
standard weight falls within the range of 4 to 6 pounds (or approximately 2.5kg or less). You can carry them easily
this way. The standard dimension is 15 1/4 inches x 13-3/4 inches x 10-1/2 inches.
Some have rolling wheels at the bottom. Making it an easier task. Just roll them around instead of carrying them
with your hands. This saves your energy. The best usage for these crates are using them to carry "watery" items.
Some items, like vegetables, milk bottles can have liquid dripping off. You would want a hollow box for this
purpose. Otherwise, fluid or liquid will accumulate at the bottom of your box. Laundry anyone?
Companies like Sterilite make good plastic storage crates. You can get them at very cheap prices at only $4 to $6
